Jason Snell came to establish his own law practice via a rather circuitous route.
Jason graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. His minor area of interest was Business Communication. During his undergraduate studies, Jason reported for the school newspaper and held various leadership positions on campus, including president of both his graduating class and fraternity.
Jason also distinguished himself academically during his undergraduate studies by consistently being named to the President's List (4.0 GPA) and the Dean's List (3.0 GPA). After college, Jason worked as a laborer in the construction industry in petrochemical refineries in the Port Arthur Area, and taught school at his high school alma mater, Port Neches-Groves High School, in Port Neches, Texas.
In 1996, Jason went off to law school at Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. During law school, Jason won the American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence and was initiated into the honorary legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi (top 25% of class).
Jason then left Texas and traveled extensively in Europe. While in Europe, Jason studied comparative law, land transactions, and transactions in goods at the prestigious The Queen's College, Oxford University, in Oxford, England. Jason returned to Texas and in 1999 graduated cum laude (with honors) with a law degree from Texas Tech School of Law.
In 1999, Jason was awarded his attorney's license in Texas and began the practice of law as an associate at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP in Dallas, Texas. At Thompson Coe, Jason's primary area of practice was civil litigation and the defense of insureds and insurance companies in cases involving personal injury.
After practicing for several years in Dallas, Jason moved to New York City where he was awarded his attorney's license in 2003. While in New York City, in probably the toughest, most adversarial legal environment in the country, Jason continued to practice civil litigation, defending against personal injury lawsuits on behalf of insureds and insurance companies. Jason also began his construction practice while in New York City, representing owners, developers, construction managers, contractors and design professionals on large-scale construction projects.
In 2007, Jason returned to his native Texas to establish his own law firm, The Snell Law Firm, P.L.L.C. Read more about the Practice Areas of The Snell Law Firm, P.L.L.C.
When away from work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking in the Hill Country, traveling, and visiting his home in Marfa, Texas.
