On October 29, 2015, Jason Snell together with Milwaukee attorney Jonathan Safran of Samster, Konkel & Safran gave a presentation at this year’s National Lawyer Referral Workshop held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The presentation, entitled “Selling Your Bar Association Leadership on LRIS a/k/a How to Talk to Your Bar Leadership,” offered attendees insight into the the many benefits of Lawyer Referral and Information Services (LRIS).
Besides serving as an effective tool for connecting the community with experienced attorneys who have the legal expertise most suited to their needs, LRIS supports local bar associations as well:
• LRIS programs can generate money to help fund programs or associations that help people;
• LRIS programs can associate with those programs or associations to sponsor events; and,
• LRIS and local bar associations can directly or indirectly benefit from those efforts.
During the presentation, Messrs. Snell and Safran highlighted how each of these benefits ultimately fosters positive relationship between lawyers, the courts, and the community. Attorneys were also encouraged to utilize a LRIS within their bar associations, which in turn can be a gateway to leadership opportunities.
